Punta Cana Emergency Contacts & Urgent Help

By PuntaCana·Jul 26, 2026·1 min read

You will almost certainly never need this page. Read it anyway, because the time to find out who to call is not at 2 a.m. with a dead phone.

Below are the numbers that matter, what to do for the problems that actually happen (lost passport, lost card, a driver who never showed), and a short offline card worth keeping in your bag.

For an immediate emergency

Call 911 for a serious emergency in Punta Cana. Give the location, hotel name, room or meeting point, what happened and a callback number. Ask the hotel or a Spanish speaker to assist when communication is difficult.

Tourist assistance

The Dominican tourism police, POLITUR, provides tourist assistance. Its official information lists the free line 1 809 200 3500 and additional contact details. Check the official POLITUR website for current information.

Medical help

For a life threatening situation, use emergency services. For other urgent problems, contact the hotel, insurer or a recognised medical provider. Ask about payment and insurance procedures without delaying essential care.

Lost passport

Report theft to the appropriate local authority, contact the embassy or consulate responsible for the traveller, and keep copies of the passport and travel details. Embassy procedures and opening hours vary.

Lost card or phone

Contact the bank or network immediately, lock the device remotely when possible and change important passwords. Use a trusted device or connection for account recovery.

Provider problem

For a missed transfer or excursion, contact the number on the confirmation first. Save screenshots of the booking, messages and meeting point. When the provider cannot be reached, use a safe alternative and document any additional cost.

Prepare an offline emergency card

  • Hotel name, address and room.
  • Travel companion contact.
  • Insurer policy and assistance line.
  • Airline and transfer provider.
  • Medical conditions and allergies.
  • Embassy or consulate details.

Important note

Contact details can change. Verify essential numbers close to travel and ask the hotel for the nearest appropriate medical facility.
