Use this guide to understand resort access, verified transport pickup, beach conditions, and practical safety steps before booking excursions or transfers in Punta Cana.
Most major Punta Cana resorts use gated entrance checkpoints. Drivers may be asked to confirm the guest name, booking details, pickup time, and tour provider before entering. Always confirm your pickup point in advance because some resorts require guests to meet drivers at the lobby, main gate, or designated transportation area.
A verified driver should know your name, resort, excursion, pickup time, and booking reference. Avoid entering vehicles where the driver cannot confirm your reservation details. Look for official tour company identification, vehicle branding, WhatsApp confirmation, or a written booking voucher.
Seaweed conditions can change by beach, season, wind direction, and daily cleanup activity. Bávaro and Arena Gorda may experience different conditions from Cap Cana or Uvero Alto on the same day. Check your resort beach, recent traveler reports, and local updates before choosing beach-heavy excursions.
Excursion pickup windows are usually approximate. Drivers may stop at several resorts before reaching the activity departure point. Be ready at least 10–15 minutes before the confirmed time and stay near the agreed pickup area.
Bring your booking confirmation, phone, sunscreen, towel, small cash, water, and any required ID. For boat trips, bring waterproof protection for electronics. For adventure tours, wear closed shoes when required.
